Relationships..Food for thought!
Relationships…lately, I have been giving a thought around this very powerful word and have been trying to understand the gravitational force behind this term which pulls you into it in a way that you eat, sleep and drink relationship, if you are into one.
I read somewhere that “Romance is all about two people celebrating the coincidence that they found each other at the same time”. Nothing betters the in-depth meaning that this quote offers. Interestingly, relationships have many facets and it offers dimensionless possibilities of how one can be affected by it.
Online relationships are the most common these days. They give the ppl (especially gals) a sense of security about their privacy and this helps them in being open to the other person in no time. But it has its own pitfalls and sadly enough, most of the youngsters today are gripped with them.
Now, if you are a frequent visitor of the chat sites and social networking sites, you will find umpteen numbers of aimless people just waiting to pounce upon someone from the opposite sex and get close and cozy to them as and when possible.
These are the bunch of people who haven’t had the courage or guts to talk to someone in person in their whole life and they see the online media as a golden opportunity to satiate their thrust of feeling importance.
Personally, I find this absolutely disgusting and ridiculous, I mean, come on..its ok to meet new and interesting people online and get to know more about diversified cultures and customs along with many useful piece of information which may help you in becoming a better individual, but this doesn’t hold good for some sex-starving aimless creatures.
I myself have many online friends, with whom I interact on a regular basis and have developed a chemistry comfortable enough to call them my pals now.
Then comes the long distance relationships, which more or less doesn’t seem long distance nowadays (accredited to 24 X 7 access to the Internet and day-by-day falling prices of the telecommunication industry). The older saying about “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” doesn’t hold good in today’s world. Infact, I feel the more appropriate saying would be “Out of sight, better in mind” which fits into today’s fast paced life of people, as it gives you an independent life style without having to compromise anything for a relationship.
Yeah, you can call me a loner for feeling this way but what does one gets out of it anyways. Infact I think that the happiest people today would be the one who are not into any relationships. May be my thinking would change about all this one day or may be it wont, but one thing is sure that relationships will continue to be one of the innermost human experiences.
