The Appraisal Phobia!
Nowadays, everyone I talk to has only one agenda in his life, to get his appraisal’s verdict in flying colors. It’s that time of the year when people become over-sensitive about their appraisal…After all, the entire year they have toiling to see that elusive ‘Very Good’ or ‘A+’ evaluation. I was also once a part of this rat race, futile appraisal negotiations, and etc etc.. and the fun part is every one always gets excellent remarks no matter how scantily they performed during the whole appraisal cycle. The manager utters nice things about the candidate which are not even remotely connected to his/her appraisal.
I started wondering what if someone would rise to the occasion and will give all the deserving dumb asses some authentic feedback....it would really make a pleasurable reading as well…
During my tenure at the previous company which happens to be a respected MNC, God was kind enough to make sure that every time I had a very kind appraiser who always had something good to say about me (Now I wonder how much they had to control the urge to show me their real feelings about a hopeless creature like me).Meanwhile, I also came across a lot of prospective people who seemed fit for the below appraisal report.
If you are reading this piece of writing from your office, then take a quiet look around you, I am sure you will also find umpteen number of potential and eligible candidates for the below appraisal report. So, what are you waiting for..Go ahead, be brave and let the truth be told…!
A factual appraisal report – To be used at your own peril
Mr. XYZ has been working with me for the last six months now (sigh!) and since my last appraisal report has reached rock bottom, and has started to dig. He always sets low standards in the team and consistently fails to achieve them. He only works well under constant supervision and when cornered like a rat in a trap. He has the wisdom of youth, so much as he would argue with a signpost...and has energy level of old age.
His personality can be best described by the fact that if you see two people talking and one looks bored, then he is the other one. He always brings a lot of joy when he leaves the room and has a knack of making strangers immediately.
He has two brains: one is lost and the other is out looking for it. If he were any more stupid he would have to be watered twice a week .I think when his IQ reaches 50 he should sell. This person has delusions of adequacy but sadly enough he is not so much of a 'has been', more of a definite 'wont be'.
Personally, I would not allow this employee to breed as he is a prime candidate for natural deselection. If you gave him a penny for his thoughts you'd get change as he has been gargled from the fountain of knowledge...
Final decree, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE OF COURSE - RATHER TO ILLUSTRATE HOW NOT TO DO IT!
