CORRIDOR OF UNCERTAIN TEA

Cricket is a funny game, they say..eh….Ya, I agree, for most part of it, Cricket becomes funny for me whenever I see Sunny bat while playing. That is indeed a funny sight. For the uninitiated, who don’t know who Sunny is in TGCC, well that is not surprising as you rarely see him during practice and if he occasionally comes in for a match, has a very short stay at the crease. I will attribute this to his poor batting skills and the lack of self-realization about his cricketing capabilities.

Now you guys would have gotten cozy and would be waiting for more Sunny bashing in this blog, let me tell you he is one of my dearest friend and we share a great rapport; except while playing pool, as he always wins effortlessly. Also, to elucidate any misconstruction about whatever I wrote about his cricket above, it is….ALL TRUE...

Some of you say, why take a dig at your friend? I question, why not?? This negligence has to stop and the movement to relive our cricketing thoughts starts with this blog right now. Most of the stories in the blogs henceforth will contain impertinent references of, but not limited to –

1) Mayur Choudhary – is an exciting top order batsman with an amazing repertoire of shots. He is full of technique and has single-handedly developed 2487 ways of padding up to an off-spinner. He has many times pulled TGCC from the brink of complete debacle, taking them to mere comprehensive defeats.
2) Sunny Kriplani– If Akhtar is the “Rawalpindi Express”, then for many years Sunny, a key part of the bowling attack, was affectionately called “The Slow Clemmons Passenger That Is Currently Broken Down At Winston Salem. Passengers approach ticket counter for refund please”. Sunny is frequently a useful all-rounder and has achieved the “supreme” double of 25 wickets taken and 2500 misfields.
3) Bivinder Pal & 4) Prashant Dixit –The speed maestros in TGCC. However they are not a big mover of the ball but instead unleash a repertoire of balls so complicated even they do not know what they are doing.
5) Rahul Bide – Rahul is a dynamic batsman who holds the record for maximum runs in the duke tournament 2007. Rahul would have hit more but little kids from the opposition teams had maths homework and a Science test the next day and we all know how bad 7th standard CBSE is.
6) Amar Bhatia – Amar is an explosive batsman who often steps out of his crease and swings his bat with great gutso only to be stumped down leg side.
7) Hardik Patel – Hardik is a dynamic middle order batsman who holds the record for maximum consecutives MACC tournaments without a hair cut.

In the future, as the MACC league starts, you will read more about the (mis)adventures of these great cricketers on and off the field. So keep watching this space!
